Gatwick Airport Transfers | Reliable Taxi Service from London | Cheap Taxis London

Landing at Gatwick after a long flight is tiring enough without wondering whether your taxi will actually be there. Delayed flights, luggage, children and busy arrivals can make finding transport more stressful than it needs to be.

With a pre-booked Gatwick airport transfer from Cheap Taxis London, your journey is arranged before you travel. Your driver tracks your flight, meets you at arrivals with a name board, helps with your luggage and takes you directly to your destination.

This guide explains how the Gatwick transfer service works, including meet and greet, flight tracking, vehicle options, areas covered and the booking process. You will also see what to expect if your flight is delayed and how to choose the right vehicle for your passengers and luggage.

Why Book Your Gatwick Transfer with Cheap Taxis London

A pre-booked Gatwick transfer gives you more certainty from the moment you make the booking. Your price is confirmed, your flight is monitored, and your driver is arranged before you travel.

Fixed Prices with No Hidden Charges

The price shown when you book is the price you pay, and you can review typical London airport taxi costs before you travel. There is no meter running while you wait and no surge pricing because demand is high.

Your quote is confirmed at the time of booking, so traffic conditions on the day do not change the agreed fare. Meet and greet, the included waiting period and standard luggage are covered according to your booking.

You know the cost before you leave home.

Flight Tracking as Standard

Every Gatwick transfer includes flight monitoring. Your driver can see the actual status of your flight and adjust the pickup accordingly.

If your flight is delayed, you do not need to call and explain what happened. The pickup is adjusted to match your arrival. If your flight arrives earlier than scheduled, the driver can adjust accordingly.

Always provide your flight number when booking. It is the key detail needed to monitor your flight.

Meet and Greet at Both Gatwick Terminals

Your driver meets you inside the arrivals area with a name board displaying your name.

You do not need to search the terminal for a taxi rank or carry your luggage to a distant pickup point. The driver greets you, helps with your bags and directs you to the vehicle.

This is particularly useful after a long-haul flight, when you are travelling with children or when you are unfamiliar with Gatwick.

24/7 Availability for Early and Late Flights

Airport journeys, whether you are booking Gatwick or Heathrow Airport transfers, do not follow normal office hours. Your transfer can be arranged for early-morning departures, late-night arrivals and flights outside standard working hours.

You can book online at any time. Phone and WhatsApp support can also be used when you need help with your booking or travel arrangements.

Licensed and Vetted Drivers

Your airport transfer should be handled by a properly licensed driver. Cheap Taxis London states that its drivers are TfL-licensed, DBS-checked and professionally trained for airport transfers.

Drivers familiar with Gatwick can also handle the practical details of airport pickups, including flight delays, arrivals procedures and meeting passengers in a busy terminal.

Where available, provide the driver’s name and vehicle details before the journey so passengers know who to expect.

Meet and Greet

Meet and Greet: How It Works Step by Step

The process is straightforward, and the same meet-and-greet approach applies to Stansted Airport transfers. You book before travelling, your flight is monitored, and your driver meets you at arrivals.

01

Before You Fly

  1. Enter your journey details — Provide your flight number, pickup or drop-off location and travel date.
  2. Choose your vehicle — Select a vehicle suitable for your passenger count and luggage.
  3. Confirm your booking — Review the agreed price and confirm your transfer.
  4. Receive your confirmation — Keep your booking and driver details available before you travel.

Your flight information is then used to monitor your arrival.

02

When Your Flight Is Delayed

Your driver monitors the flight rather than relying only on the original scheduled landing time.

If the flight is delayed, the pickup is adjusted to reflect the actual arrival. You should not need to rebook the transfer because of an ordinary flight delay.

Once you clear passport control and collect your luggage, make your way to the agreed arrivals meeting point.

03

At Arrivals: Find Your Name Board

Walk into the arrivals hall and look for the name board displaying the name provided with your booking.

Your driver greets you, confirms your booking and helps with your luggage. For families, this can also make managing pushchairs and children’s luggage easier.

If you cannot find your driver, use the contact details provided with your booking rather than leaving the terminal or arranging another vehicle.

04

To Your Destination

Once you have met your driver, you travel directly to your booked destination.

There are no shared passengers or unnecessary stops unless they were included in the booking. The driver follows the most suitable route based on traffic and road conditions at the time.

On arrival, the driver can help unload your luggage.

The aim is simple: you walk out of arrivals and meet the driver who was booked for you.

Terminal Guide

North and South Terminal Pickup Guide

Gatwick has two passenger terminals, North and South. Your booking confirmation should tell you which terminal to use and where to meet your driver.

North Terminal Pickup Procedure

For a meet-and-greet booking, your driver meets you in the designated arrivals meeting area inside the North Terminal.

  • Follow the airport signs towards Arrivals after collecting your luggage.
  • Your driver waits with a name board displaying the name on your booking.
  • If you leave through a different arrivals exit, stay inside the terminal and contact the driver or dispatch team for directions.
  • For departures, your driver takes you to the appropriate North Terminal drop-off area and can assist with your luggage.

Check your booking confirmation before travelling for the exact meeting instructions, as airport pickup arrangements can change.

South Terminal Pickup Procedure

The same basic process applies at South Terminal.

  • Follow the signs to the Arrivals area after baggage reclaim.
  • Look for your driver holding a name board with your booking name.
  • If you cannot see your driver, remain inside the arrivals area and use the contact details provided with your booking.
  • For departures, your driver takes you to the South Terminal drop-off area and helps with luggage where required.

The important point is to confirm your terminal before travelling. Gatwick’s North and South Terminals are separate, so arriving at the wrong one can create unnecessary delays.

What to Do If Your Flight Is Delayed

You do not need to panic if your flight is running late.

Your driver monitors the flight information provided with your booking and can adjust the pickup around the actual arrival time.

  • Flight delayed: The driver adjusts the pickup according to the updated flight time.
  • Long immigration or baggage delay: Follow the waiting-time terms in your booking and contact the driver if you need assistance.
  • Flight cancelled or diverted: Contact the operator as soon as possible so the booking can be rearranged.
  • Need help finding the driver: Keep your phone switched on and use the driver or dispatch contact details supplied with your confirmation.

Do not claim that delays are always completely free unless the company’s actual waiting policy confirms this. The page should state the exact included waiting period and any charges that apply afterwards.

Vehicle Options

Vehicle Fleet Options

The right vehicle depends on passengers and luggage, not passengers alone.

Saloon Cars

A saloon is suitable for solo travellers and couples carrying a normal amount of luggage.

It works well for one or two passengers with one or two standard suitcases and hand luggage. It is a practical choice when you do not need additional boot space.

Estate Cars

An estate provides more boot space than a standard saloon.

It is a better option when you have additional suitcases or bulky items such as golf clubs or sports equipment.

For larger items, tell the operator when booking so the available luggage space can be confirmed.

MPVs

MPVs are designed for families and small groups that need more passenger and luggage space.

They are useful for passengers travelling with several suitcases, pushchairs or children. Child seats and boosters can be requested when booking, subject to availability.

Tell the operator the children’s ages and the type of seats required when you book.

Minibuses

A minibus is suitable for larger groups travelling together.

It can be useful for wedding parties, sports teams, corporate groups and other occasions where several passengers have luggage or equipment.

The exact passenger and luggage capacity depends on the vehicle supplied, so confirm these details before booking.

Passenger Requirements

Child Seats and Accessibility

Child seats should be requested when you make the booking, not after you arrive.

Provide the child’s age and any other information requested by the operator so the appropriate seat can be arranged.

Booster seats and infant carriers may also be available, depending on the fleet.

If you have accessibility requirements or need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, discuss this before confirming the booking. The vehicle must be suitable for both the passenger and any mobility equipment being carried.

Choose the Right Vehicle

Before booking, check four things:

01Number of passengers
02Number and size of suitcases
03Pushchairs or bulky equipment
04Child-seat or accessibility requirements

If you are close to the vehicle’s luggage limit, choose the larger option rather than hoping everything will fit.

Vehicle capacities should be confirmed against the actual fleet before publication. Do not publish generic passenger or suitcase numbers as guaranteed capacities.

Coverage

Areas Served and Popular Gatwick Routes

Gatwick transfers are available across London and many surrounding areas, and for passengers flying from a different airport, Luton Airport transfers are also available. The most useful way to check your route is to enter your exact pickup and destination in the booking form.

Central London

Direct transfers are available to Central London postcodes, including hotels, offices and residential addresses.

Central London is a common route for both business and leisure travellers. Your driver collects you from the address provided and takes you directly to Gatwick or meets you at the airport for the return journey.

Journey times depend on traffic and time of day. Your booking price remains based on the confirmed quote.

Croydon

Croydon is a popular Gatwick route, particularly for passengers travelling for early-morning flights.

A private transfer removes the need to coordinate multiple public transport connections while carrying luggage.

Brighton and Hove

Gatwick is a common arrival point for travellers heading to Brighton and Hove.

A direct transfer takes you from either Gatwick terminal to your hotel, home or other destination. Families and groups can also request a suitable larger vehicle.

Crawley

Crawley is close to Gatwick and is a frequent route for passengers staying near the airport before an early flight.

A pre-booked transfer can collect you from your hotel or accommodation and take you directly to the correct terminal.

Surrey and Surrounding Areas

Transfers can also be arranged to and from Surrey locations such as Guildford, Reigate and Walton-on-Thames, subject to service coverage.

If your destination is not listed, check it through the quote form or contact the operator before booking.

Do not assume every South East postcode is automatically covered. Confirm your exact route and any applicable charges before you travel.

Simple Booking

Booking Process Walkthrough

Booking your Gatwick transfer should take only a few minutes.

01

Step 1: Get an Instant Quote

Enter your pickup location, destination, travel date and flight details into the online booking form.

The system displays the available price before you confirm. You can then decide whether the vehicle and service meet your requirements.

02

Step 2: Choose Your Vehicle and Add-ons

Select the vehicle according to your passenger count and luggage.

If you are travelling with children, bulky luggage or special requirements, add these details during booking. Check the final price before continuing.

03

Step 3: Confirm Your Booking

Enter your contact details and complete the payment process shown by the booking system.

Once the booking is confirmed, keep your confirmation and reference available on your phone.

04

Step 4: Receive Your Driver Details

Your confirmation should provide the information you need for the journey. Where the service provides driver details in advance, check the driver’s name and vehicle information before travelling.

On the day, your flight is monitored using the flight number provided during booking. If the flight time changes, the pickup can be adjusted accordingly.

If you need to make a change, contact the operator through the available phone support channels.

Keep your phone charged and switched on around your arrival time.

A Simple Booking Checklist

Before submitting your booking, have these details ready:

Pickup address
Gatwick terminal
Flight number
Travel date and time
Number of passengers
Number of suitcases
Child-seat requirements
Any oversized luggage or accessibility requirements

This gives the operator enough information to arrange the appropriate vehicle and pickup.

Business Travel

Business Travel and Corporate Accounts

Business travellers need certainty. The pickup needs to be confirmed, the driver needs to arrive on time, and the paperwork should not create extra work.

Corporate Account Benefits

Regular business travel can be managed through a dedicated corporate account, subject to availability.

  • Dedicated account support: A named contact can help manage regular bookings and business travel requirements.
  • Faster repeat bookings: Passenger details and frequently used routes can be saved where the booking system supports this.
  • Vehicle planning: Regular travellers can request appropriate vehicles for their routes and luggage requirements.
  • Multiple travellers: Businesses can arrange transfers for employees, clients and visitors through one account.

For companies booking regular Gatwick transfers, a corporate account can reduce the amount of administration involved in arranging each journey individually.

28-Day Invoicing and Receipt Management

Businesses that use account-based billing can benefit from consolidated invoicing, subject to the operator’s terms.

Instead of managing individual payments for every journey, eligible corporate customers can receive an agreed billing statement covering their bookings.

Itemised receipts also make it easier to match journeys with employees, departments and expense claims.

Confirm the exact invoicing period and account terms with the operator before publishing this as a guaranteed feature.

Fixed Business Rates

Regular routes can be arranged at agreed rates where the operator offers corporate pricing.

This gives businesses a clearer basis for travel budgets and procurement decisions. It also removes the need to negotiate the fare every time an employee needs an airport transfer.

For frequent Gatwick routes, ask the corporate team about available business rates and account arrangements.

Corporate booking: Contact the team to discuss your regular routes, passenger requirements and billing needs.

Trust & Evidence

Customer Testimonials and Trust Signals

People booking an airport transfer want evidence that the service works in real situations.

Verified Reviews with Specific Details

Use genuine customer reviews that explain what actually happened.

A useful review might mention the route, pickup time, terminal and driver’s service. Specific details are more convincing than a collection of generic five-star comments.

For example, if a genuine customer review says they booked an early-morning Croydon-to-Gatwick transfer and the driver arrived ahead of schedule, display those details alongside the original review source.

Never create or rewrite testimonials to make them sound better than the original customer feedback.

Trustpilot and Independent Reviews

If Cheap Taxis London has an active Trustpilot profile, link to the profile so prospective customers can verify the reviews themselves.

Show the current rating and review count accurately. These figures should be updated whenever they change.

TfL Licensing and Driver Vetting

Display the relevant TfL licensing information prominently rather than hiding it in the footer.

Where accurate and documented, explain the driver’s licensing and vetting requirements in straightforward language. Customers should be able to understand who is responsible for their journey and where they can verify the operator’s credentials.

A useful trust section can include:

  • TfL licensing information
  • Driver vetting details
  • Company contact information
  • Independent customer reviews
  • Secure payment information

Secure Payment

Explain how payment is handled through the actual booking system.

If the payment provider is PCI-compliant, this can be stated clearly. Do not claim that card details are never stored unless the payment provider and booking system confirm this.

The payment stage should also make the final price and booking terms clear before the customer confirms the journey.

Trust is built by showing evidence, not by adding more adjectives.

Compare Services

Service Comparison: Cheap Taxis London vs Standard Taxi or Rideshare

The difference is mainly about certainty before you travel. A pre-booked airport transfer gives you a confirmed journey, while a standard taxi or rideshare is often arranged closer to the time of travel.

Feature Comparison

Feature Cheap Taxis London Standard Taxi or Rideshare
Meet and greet Driver meets you at arrivals with a name board, subject to the booked service Availability and meeting arrangements vary
Flight tracking Flight monitoring can adjust pickup for delays Depends on the provider and booking type
Pricing Fixed quote confirmed before travel Taxi fares may be metered; rideshare pricing may vary with demand
Child seats Available when requested and confirmed in advance Availability varies by provider
Vehicle choice Different vehicle options for passengers and luggage Choice varies by provider and availability
24/7 service Available for airport transfers, subject to booking availability Availability varies by service and time
Advance booking Driver and journey are arranged before travel Pre-booking availability and cancellation terms vary

What the Comparison Means for You

If your priority is knowing the price, pickup arrangements and vehicle before you travel, pre-booking gives you greater certainty.

A standard taxi or rideshare can still be useful for spontaneous journeys. The main advantage of booking an airport transfer in advance is that the important details are arranged before you reach the airport.

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if my flight is delayed?

If your booking includes flight tracking, your driver monitors the flight information and adjusts the pickup according to the updated arrival time.

The exact waiting and delay policy should be checked in your booking terms.

What if my flight lands early?

Your driver can use the updated flight information to adjust the pickup arrangements. Keep your phone switched on after landing in case the driver needs to contact you.

What if my flight is diverted or cancelled?

Contact the operator as soon as possible using the phone or WhatsApp details in your booking confirmation. The booking can then be reviewed and rearranged according to the operator’s cancellation and amendment terms.

Can you provide child seats?

Child seats and booster seats can be requested when booking, subject to availability.

Provide the child’s age and any other information requested so the correct seat can be arranged.

How much luggage can I bring?

Luggage capacity depends on the vehicle you select.

If you are travelling with several large suitcases, pushchairs or sports equipment, tell the operator before booking. A larger vehicle may be more suitable.

What if I have oversized luggage or sports equipment?

Mention it when you request your quote. Items such as golf clubs, bicycles, skis or additional bags may require a larger vehicle.

Do not assume a standard saloon will accommodate unusual luggage.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation terms depend on the booking conditions. Check the exact notice period and any applicable charges before confirming your journey.

Do not publish a claim that cancellations are always free unless the current booking terms confirm this.

Can I amend my booking?

Contact the operator with your booking reference if you need to change your flight number, pickup details, passenger information or vehicle requirements.

Changes are subject to availability and the applicable booking terms.

Are there any hidden fees?

The service should display the applicable price and charges before you confirm the booking. Check your booking confirmation carefully for any optional extras, additional waiting, special luggage requirements or other charges.

How do I change my booking?

Use the phone for contact details provided with your confirmation and quote your booking reference.

Can I book for someone else?

Yes, provided the booking system allows third-party bookings. Enter the passenger’s correct name and contact details so the driver knows who they are collecting.

Do you offer corporate accounts?

If corporate accounts are currently offered, businesses can contact the operator to discuss regular bookings, billing arrangements and business rates.

Confirm the current account terms before publishing specific claims such as 28-day invoicing or fixed corporate rates.
